Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’s former Sodhi aka Gurucharan Singh has been missing since 22nd April 2024. His father has registered a missing complaint in Palam, South Delhi.
Fans of the popular Indian television show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), were left shocked and concerned as reports surfaced on April 26th, 2024, stating that Gurucharan Singh, known for his portrayal of the lovable character Roshan Singh Sodhi, had gone missing.
Singh, who played the role of Sodhi until 2020, had departed from the show due to his father's health issues. Despite leaving TMKOC, Singh remained etched in the hearts of viewers with his impeccable acting skills and infectious humor.
The unsettling news of Singh's disappearance emerged after he failed to return to Mumbai from Delhi, where he had traveled to celebrate his father's birthday. Singh was scheduled to fly back to Mumbai on April 22nd, 2024, but did not board his flight, prompting concerns about his whereabouts.
Singh's father lodged a missing complaint with the police in Palam, South Delhi, stating that Singh had left their residence on the morning of April 22nd but had not reached Mumbai nor returned home. Efforts to contact Singh via phone proved futile as his device was switched off.
Adding to the mystery, Singh's last social media post, featuring him with his father, was shared on the same day he went missing. Close friends revealed that Singh had been unwell prior to his disappearance, experiencing high blood pressure and loss of appetite.
The Delhi Police initiated a search operation, examining CCTV footage from various locations, including the airport and surrounding areas. A viral video clip showed Singh crossing a traffic intersection in South Palam, carrying a backpack on his shoulders.
Efforts to trace Singh's route and activities are ongoing, with authorities analyzing his call records and reaching out to individuals he contacted before his disappearance. Despite intense scrutiny, no FIR has been registered yet, and investigations continue based on the missing complaint.
In a display of solidarity, members of the TMKOC cast and crew, including Sachin Shroff and Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, have joined efforts to locate Singh, extending support to his family during this challenging time. Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, President of the All Indian Cine Workers Association, has urged Delhi's authorities to intensify search efforts to locate Singh swiftly.
As fans anxiously await updates on Singh's whereabouts, the collective hope remains for his safe return, praying for a positive resolution to this distressing situation.
