Ukraine Requests PM Modi To Talk With Putin To End War

Yesterday on 24th February, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of the war against Ukraine. ISH News released a detailed video about the Russia - Ukraine conflict. You can check out the video on this link. Since the war started yesterday, here are a fews updates on the conflict. Russian air force attacked the military bases in Ukraine and the army moved into Ukraine from the north, south and east. Many missiles were thrown. Kyiv is Ukraine's capital. Russia attacked Kyiv and many bombardments were seen from Kyiv and several other cities. Russia wants to remove the Ukraine government and Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to put someone in the Ukraine government who will support him and Russia Russia's Defense Ministry said its first day of attacking Ukraine was "successful". They had attacked 74 military bases, including 11 air force bases. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said 137 Ukrainians died and another 316 people had been injured. “Russia is behaving like a devil but will continue protecting itself and we will never let Russia capture Ukraine. Ukraine.” Zelenskyy tweeted. Lakhs of people living in Ukraine, have left their homes fearing russian attacks and many have left the country
Many visuals were received from different parts of Ukraine. Since russia was throwing bombs and missiles at the Kharkiv city in Ukriane. People ran inside a metro station to protect themselves. At another city called Dnipro there was a hospital where newborn infants from the NICU were moved into a small room at lower level of the building to protect from bombs. The war has had a very bad impact on the world’s economy. India’s share market crashed by 3%. The price of crypto currency also crashed. The price of gold increased.
Countries like USA, Germany etc would be sending their troops to Ukraine to support them in the war. Ukraine urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to interfere and talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin as Modi is a very strong and respectable leader. Plus Modi and Putin have a very strong connection. If Modi talks to Putin, Putin might listen to him.
Hours after the request, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Russian president Vladimir Putin, appealing for an immediate end to the war. PM Modi said that for India, the highest priority is the safe exit and return of its citizens. This is because 16,000 Indians including students are still stuck in Ukraine. They are afraid because of the war and are running out of food and money. Currently Russia has attacked Ukraine from North, South and East. Indians cannot be evacuated from these sides. The only way Indians can be evacuated is from the west from countries like Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Romania. The Indian government is working very hard to bring the Indians back from Ukraine. Meanwhile the people in Russia are against the war and there was a protest on the main street in St Petersburg, Russia. The crowd was chanting "No to War!" "Shame!" & "Ukraine is not our enemy!"
