UP Man Gets Bitten By Snake Every Weekend, Doctors Confused

A man in Uttar Pradesh claims to have been bitten by a snake every weekend, but investigations suggest it might be due to snake phobia.

In a strange incident, a 24-year-old man in Soura village, Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, identified as Vikas Dubey, claims to have been bitten by a snake every Saturday for the past seven weeks. Dubey's first encounter with the snake was on 2nd June 2024 in his house, and since then, he has been repeatedly bitten, each time requiring hospital treatment and recovery.

After the fourth snake bite, Dubey moved to live with his aunt in Radhanagar to avoid further incidents. However, shortly after returning to his parents' home, he was bitten again for the fifth time on 6th July. Dubey mentioned that each snake bite occurred on either Saturday or Sunday, and he had a feeling 3-4 hours before each encounter.

Chief Medical Officer Rajiv Nayan Giri stated that Dubey has requested financial help from the authorities, as he has spent a lot of money on treatments. Giri advised him to visit a government-run hospital where he could receive anti-snake venom free of cost. Dubey claims that the snake communicated to him that it will bite him a total of nine times, ultimately taking his life on the ninth attempt. On 13th July, he was bitten for the seventh time.

However, some news reports suggest that Dubey's claims might be false. The Fatehpur Health Department and the forest department team investigated the case and found that Dubey had been bitten by a snake only once. The doctors believe Dubey might be suffering from snake phobia, causing him to believe he was bitten multiple times.

The public is divided on this matter, with some believing Dubey's story and others thinking it might be a case of paranoia. If Dubey's claims are true, he might be in danger of losing his life from the ninth snake bite; if false, he will remain safe. What do you think about this situation?
