Very Few Pregnant Women Take COVID Vaccine

COVID-19 vaccination for pregnant women in Maharashtra started from mid-July 2021. Currently in Maharashtra there are around 20 lakh pregnant women but only 2% which is 40,700 pregnant women have taken the COVID vaccine. Similarly in Mumbai there 1.50 lakh pregnant women but only 1278 pregnant women have taken the vaccine. All over India, only 6 lakh pregnant women have taken the vaccines. Doctors are very worried that less pregnant women are taking vaccines. They say this is because of fear and misunderstanding that the vaccine may be unsafe for the baby. Doctors say pregnant women are at risk of getting COVID so they should get the vaccine. Doctors have urged the government to make more awareness and explain that vaccines are safe.
