Originally from Indore, Chandrika found herself selling authentic Mumbai-style Vada Pavs outside Keshav Mahavidyalya in Delhi’s Sainik Vihar, Pritampura. After losing her parents at a young age, she moved to Delhi in search of better opportunities and worked at the famous Indian fast-food chain Haldiram. Eventually, she pursued her dream of owning a food business with her husband, Yash Gera.
Chandrika's story gained widespread attention after an emotional video of her crying went viral on social media, highlighting her struggles with municipal officials pressuring her to remove her food stall. Despite paying fees, she faced threats of closure, sparking debate among netizens about the authenticity of her plight.
