Will Chandrayaan-3 Land on Moon?
On July 14th at 2.35 pm, ISRO launched Chandrayaan-3, their next lunar exploration mission.
Four years ago, on July 22, 2019, ISRO launched Chandrayaan-2, an ambitious mission to explore the moon. Consisting of an orbiter, a lander named Vikram, and a rover, the mission aimed to uncover lunar mysteries. While the lander, Vikram, unfortunately, didn't make a smooth landing as desired, the overall mission achieved significant success in other aspects. Today, after four years, ISRO is all set for an exciting new venture. On July 14th at 2.35 pm, they launched Chandrayaan-3, their next lunar exploration mission. It was launched from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, India. It is expected to land around 23rd or 24th August 2023. The total cost of the project is Rs 615 crore.
This upcoming mission holds immense promise for India and the global scientific community. India will become the fourth country to land on the moon and the first country to explore the lunar south pole.
