A woman has been left completely blind in one eye and will soon lose sight in the other after a tattoo artist botched an attempt to dye her eyeballs black.
A woman has been left completely blind in one eye and will soon lose sight in the other after a tattoo artist botched an attempt to dye her eyeballs black.Her name is Aleksandra Sadowska from the city of Wroclaw in the west of Poland. She is 25-years-old and is a model.
She had gone to the tattooist after deciding she wanted to emulate a rap artist called Popek, who also had the whites of his eyes dyed black. Aleksandra went to a tattoo artist named Piotr A in Warsaw which is the capital of Poland.
When she told him about wanting to dye her eyeballs black he agreed to do it. Even though he has no experience with it.In such a procedure, the artist injects ink just under the surface of the white part of the eye. This procedure is very dangerous. If the tattoo artist uses too much pigment, injects the pigment too deep into the eye, uses a needle that is too big or uses the wrong ink, then it can lead to many problems.
It can cause vision loss or blindness, infection, sensitivity to light and a potential loss of the eyeball.The polish tattooist had made many serious mistakes while dying Aleksandra’s eyes. He used body ink for tattooing skin, which should not come into contact with the eye.
After the procedure she began complaining of pains in her eyes. But the tattooist said it was normal and could be treated with painkillers.However, after she went to the doctor the damage was too deep and extensive. She will lose her eyesight.She has said that, 'I will not lock myself in the basement and get depressed. I have sadness behind me, but I live on.'
A case has been filed against the tattoo artist and he may be jailed for severely disabling the woman.
The tattooist, who still runs his salon where he carries out mainly ear piercings. He has pleaded not guilty. The court case is expected to start soon.
