Today is the 4th day of the International Week of the Deaf and the theme is Sign Language Rights For DeafBlind People And Deaf People With Disabilities. DeafBlind people and deaf people with disabilities are all a part of the Deaf community. They have a right to take part in the Deaf community as well as the society and they have a right to be treated equally. Deaf people with disabilities must be given all types of accessibility. They must be given access to different types of Sign Language such as protactile language, and sign language interpretation services that are specially for Deafblind people.
Interpretation for the DeafBlind may also include environmental description and guiding, as well as tactile signs.Deaf people with additional disabilities, such as autism spectrum and deaf people with intellectual disabilities have the right to live their life equal to others. This is why they must be given accessibility of Sign language in education, their families, friends and everybody around them must learn sign language.
Sign Language is the key to break communication barrier. If DeafBlind people and Deaf with other disabilities are given accessibility of Sign language it will help they live their life with independence.
