Teams from various associations gathered at Shivaji Park in Mumbai on 3rd December 2019, to celebrate World Disability Day. Teams of Deaf individuals from various organisations had gathered and there was march as well. ISH News representatives, interviewed various Deaf leaders to know what the day was important to them and their demands.
ISH News interviewed SLAD General Secretary Pradeep More. He demanded the ISL must be given official status by amending the constitution and making it the 23rd official language. ISL language will empower Deaf individuals and will make sure people stop calling them monkeys and forcing them to use cochlear's. Leaders of various associations all demanded the same.
