Pakistan Deputy PM’s Grandson Arrested for Extortion and Gangraping 2 Foreign Women
Pakistan Deputy PM Ishaq Dar's grandson has been arrested in an alleged kidnapping and sexual assault case involving two foreign women.
Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar's grandson, Muhammad Raza Dar, has been arrested in a kidnapping and assault case involving two foreign businesswomen.
According to police, the women, from the Netherlands and Venezuela, met Dar in Singapore while working on a cryptocurrency project. He later invited them to Pakistan, saying he would introduce them to investors.
Police allege that after the women reached Lahore on 29 June, they were held against their will by a group of armed men. The attackers allegedly demanded access to their cryptocurrency accounts and sought a large payment in cryptocurrency. The women also accused the group of sexual assault.
The women later escaped after the vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident and alerted nearby people, who informed the police.
Police have arrested Muhammad Raza Dar and several others, while the search for another suspect is continuing. The case remains under investigation.
The incident has triggered political reactions in Pakistan, with Senator Faisal Vawda demanding Ishaq Dar's resignation and raising concerns about the fairness of the investigation. Ishaq Dar has not publicly commented on the case.
