11 Die in UP CAA Protest
The state of UP is aggressively protesting the Citizenship Amendment Act. 11 individuals have lost their lives in these protests.
People of Uttar Pradesh are severely protesting the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Life of people has completely changed. Till now 11 people have died in the last 2 days. The last few days have been tense for UP, governed by BJP. Earlier this week, protesters burnt vehicles in Lucknow and also demolished police posts.The UP police felt put 3,305 people under house arrest and took 200 others in preventive custody. They said that inorder to prevent a dangerous situation in the future they put people under house arrest.
Yesterday, after Friday prayers, protests started in 13 districts in UP. Even police had told people not to protest people broke the rules and started protesting.To control the situation, police took to lathi-charge and used tear gas to disperse crowds.Many people were injured. A few even had bullet injuries.However the police say that not a single bullet was fired by the UP Police.
Internet was in 21 districts, including Lucknow and Varanasi. Yogi Adityanath ordered that all schools and colleges will remain shut.Adityanath issued a stern warning. All properties of those involved in damaging public assets will be seized and auctioned to compensate for the losses. He said The government will take revenge for these protests.
