15-Day Janta Curfew in Maharashtra
Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray announced a 15-day ‘Janta Curfew’ instead of a lockdown.
Yesterday on 13th April, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray gave a speech and announced that there would not be ‘Lockdown’ but instead there will be a ‘Janta Curfew’ in Maharashtra for 15-days.
Here are the restrictions that will be imposed in Maharashtra for the next 15-days:
The Janta Curfew will start from 8pm on 14th April and it will continue till 7am on 1st May.
Section 144 will be imposed all over the state. More than 5 people will not be allowed to roam outside.
No one should step outside the house unless absolutely necessary.
Private vehicles can move for essential/emergency purposes.
Public transport allowed with restrictions:
Auto: Driver + 2 passengers
Taxi: Driver + 50% vehicle capacity
Bus: Full capacity but no standing passengers.
Trains and flights will be allowed.
Schools & colleges will be shut. Private coaching classes will be shut.
Class 10 & 12 exams in Maharashtra have been postponed.
Restaurants will be shut for dine-in. Delivery will be allowed.
No shooting for films/ADs/Serials
Ecommerce delivery will be allowed.
Weddings will be allowed with 25 people and funerals will be allowed with 20 people.
Decisions for allowing domestic help, driver, attendants, etc will be made by local authorities.
The Chief Minister also announced a relief package of Rs 5,476 crore. He said the government will supply 3 kg of wheat and 2 kg of rice per person free of cost for one month under the Food Security Scheme.
