19-Year-Old Gang-Raped By 23 People For A Week In Varanasi
In a shocking news, a 19-year-old girl from Varanasi was raped by 23 people for one week between 29th March and 4th April 2025. Several of the accused were familiar faces.
Here's a shocking and disturbing news coming from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. A Class 12 student was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by 23 men, for one week between 29th March and 4th April 2025! What’s more shocking is, several of the accused were not strangers to her. Some were familiar faces - former classmates and people she had interacted with on Instagram.
On 29th March 2025, the girl, who was preparing for admission into a sports course, had gone to her friend's house. On the way back home, she met a boy named Raj Vishwakarma, who took her to a hookah bar in Varanasi, where other men also joined.
The girl was allegedly drugged with a spiked cold drink and then taken to different hotels in the area, where she was gang-raped. She claimed that the perpetrators had taken away her mobile phone, so she could not call anyone. Her nightmare didn’t end there. On 30th March, while walking along the road, she met a boy named Sameer and his friend. They forced her onto a motorcycle and took her towards the highway, where she was raped again and later abandoned in Nadesar. As per news reports, the next day, on 31st March, she came across Ayush along with his five other friends Sohail, Danish, Anmol, Sajid and Zahir. They took her to a cafe, where she was once again drugged and gang-raped.
On 1st April 2025, a boy named Sajid, along with his friend, took her to a hotel where 3 other men were waiting. She was forced to massage a client, during which an unknown man sexually assaulted her. After leaving the hotel, she met a boy named Imran on the way, who took her to a different hotel and raped her before leaving her outside. The brutality continued. One of the accused took her to a warehouse in Aurangabad where she was raped again. He was accompanied by two others. She was then moved to another room where two more men assaulted her. At one point, the girl managed to escape and was seen sitting outside a mall in Sigra. But the ordeal didn’t end there. On 2nd April 2025, a boy named Raj Khan approached her at the mall, offered her noodles laced with drugs and one of them raped her before abandoning her at Assi Ghat.
On 3rd April, the girl somehow made it to a friend’s house. She was still under the influence of intoxicants and fell asleep. Later in the evening, she met Danish who took her to his friend's room. There Sohail, Shoaib and some other boy drugged and raped her. They left her at Chowkaghat. Finally, on 4th April, she reached another friend’s house nearby and eventually returned home. After the girl returned home, she confided in her family. The girl’s mother stated that her daughter had initially gone to a friend’s house on 29th March. They filed a missing report on 4th April when she did not return.
Later, on 6th April, her family lodged a complaint alleging that she was gang-raped. The police have filed an FIR against 23 accused, of which 11 were unidentified. 6 were taken into custody on 6th April 2025 and they have begun questioning the accused individuals. The named accused have been identified as Raj Vishwakarma, Sameer, Ayush, Sohail, Danish, Anmol, Sajid, Zahir, Imran, Jaib, Aman and Raj Khan. They are also questioning the staff at the hookah bar. CCTV footage from the location is being examined.
Additional legal procedures are in progress and multiple teams have been deployed to track down and arrest the remaining accused.
