The engine of an aircraft you are travelling in, catching fire or any other mishap with the aircraft is the worst nightmare for anyone. 19th June 2022 was not a good day to fly as there were 3 flights which had problems and had to return to their starting points. Three flight mishaps reported were from different states. Out of the 3, two were Spicejet aircraft while the third belonged to Indigo. The first one was SpiceJet aircraft operating between Delhi-Jabalpur. The cabin pressure differential is the difference between the pressure inside the  aircraft cabin and outside the airplane. It was noticed that the cabin pressure differential was not building up. The aircraft was at 6000 ft, still the pressure was not built. Following the incident, for safety concerns the pilot decided to return to Delhi. The second incident was of SpiceJet aircraft operating between Patna and Delhi.

There were about 185 passengers on board. According to sources during the takeoff, the cockpit crew suspected a bird hit on the engine. However, the crew did not observe any abnormality and the flight resumed further takeoff. The people on the ground and the Air Traffic Control (ATC) noticed the fire. Once the cabin crew noticed sparks, they informed the Pilot-in-Command and also the ATC informed them of the sparks, smoke and flames coming out of the left engine. The flight returned back as one engine was shut in the air.  All on-board passengers are safe. However, the skills of the pilot and the crew ensured the safety of the passengers and the emergency landings were made successful.

The third incidence was of a Guwahati Delhi Indigo flight. A Delhi-bound IndiGo flight from Guwahati had to return and land back in Guwahati after a bird was suspected of having hit it after the takeoff. Due to the inconvenience, all passengers aboard the flight were accommodated on another Delhi-bound flight. Passengers of all the 3 flights were safe. However, these recent mishaps raise questions about flight safety and air travel.
