In a shocking development, 320 doses of vaccine went missing from a hospital in Jaipur.
The first case of stolen vaccines has been reported in Jaipur. In a shocking development, two boxes containing 320 doses of COVAXIN vaccine - manufactured by Bharat Biotech - went missing from Kanwatia hospital in Jaipur on Tuesday 13th April. When the hospital realised the vaccines were stolen, they immediately filed a complaint with the police. The police are investigating the matter. The cops will now go through the CCTV footage in the hospital to find out how the vaccines were stolen. There are fears that the vaccine might be sold on the black market.
Earlier on March 8, Rajasthan Health Minister Raghu Sharma had claimed shortage of the vaccine against the coronavirus disease in the state. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on 9th APril had written a letter to PM Modi saying that the COVID-19 vaccine stock in the State would finish in the next two days and had sought an immediate supply of 30 lakh vaccine. And now vaccines are getting stolen in the case. Across India, COVID cases are increasing and there is a shortage of vaccines. The news of vaccines getting stolen is very disturbing.
