4 Year Old Australian Girl Rescued After 2 Weeks

A 4-year-old Australian girl was rescued 2 weeks after she went missing. Parents had offered $7,43,000 for any information about her.

A 4-year-old girl who went missing from an Australian campsite has been rescued after 2 weeks. Cleo Smith, a 4 year old girl went missing from a campsite. Cleo was last seen in her family's tent in the early hours of 16th October. When her parents woke in the morning, she was gone. Police had feared the girl had been abducted and offered a $743,000 (54902573) reward for any information leading to her whereabouts. A team of 140 people had been working on the case. Police also received more that 1,000 tips from the public.

After 2 weeks of being missing, she was found in a house in Carnarvon, a town about 100 km from the campsite. Police broke into a house and found Cleo Smith in one of the rooms. Senior Sergeant  Cameron Blaine said, “She is physically OK. She is a very sweet, energetic girl, very trusting and very open with us. A man has been taken into custody in relation to the disappearance. 

Prime Minister Scott Morrison also welcomed the wonderful, relieving news. "Cleo Smith has been found and is home safe and sound. Our prayers answered," Morrison said on Twitter.
