52 Kg Plastic Found in Cow’s Stomach
Doctors at a Tamil Nadu Veterinary University removed 52 kg of plastic from a cow's stomach.
On 19th October, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Science University (TANUVAS) removed 52 kilograms of plastic waste from a cow’s stomach. I am not joking. They removed 52 kg of plastic from one cow and the operation was for more than five hours.Let me tell you what exactly happened. Munirathnam was a man in Tamil Nadu who owned a cow. The cow had given birth to a calf one month ago but the cow’s milk had reduced a lot. He saw that the was having problems in passing stool and urine, and the cow had been kicking its belly in pain for some time.
After taking an X-ray and sonography, the doctors found that there was something different inside the cow’s stomach.A team of doctors started the operation. They found a lot of plastic in the cow’s stomach. The doctors said 75 per cent of the cow’s stomach had plastic. The surgery was for 5 hours. Doctors said that it is normal to remove plastic from the stomach of cows. But this time they removed 52 kg of plastic. This is not normal.
The use of plastic has increased so much but people do not throw it properly. Plastic does not decompose. This is why when it is thrown on roads, etc it remains there. Animals are the first to eat it because grazing land has reduced. They then roam around on the road and eat plastic and it becomes very dangerous. Plastic is very dangerous. Reduce the use of plastic. If you are using it make sure you recycle it and throw it away properly. Otherwise life will become very difficult in the future.
