There have been many clashes between Assam people & Mizoram people at the border. Now reports of fresh clashes have emerged at the  Assam-Mizoram border on 26 July. Both CM said the locals tried to intrude in their territory.

Assam CM Sarma said, Six police officers were killed in the violence at the border as people from Mizoram tried to enter the Assam border. Sarma urged Zoramthanga to investigate why civilians from his state were holding sticks, using guns against Assam police and trying to incite violence on the Assam-Mizoram border. Assam Police claimed that miscreants from Mizoram were indulging in stone-pelting and attacking government officials from Assam. Sarma also sought the intervention of the Home Minister and the Prime Minister's Office. Mizoram CM Zoramthanga said that the Assam government intruded into Mizoram territory. He even tweeted a video of the incident in which Mizoram locals were being assaulted by Assam police.
