7 Lakh Government Posts Vacant
Labour and Employment Minister Santosh Gangwar has said that more than seven lakh posts were vacant in government department and ministries till Match 2018.
Congress MP Deepak Baij and BJP MP Darshana Jardosh, questioned the government in the Lok sabha. They asked regarding the various job vacancies that have not been filled. In response to this, the Labour and Employment Minister Santosh Gangwar told the Lok Sabha that more than seven lakh posts were vacant in government departments and ministries till Match 2018. The Railways have the highest amount of vacancies. They more than 2.6 lakh job vacancies. In the defence department 1.87 lakh posts are vacant.
The latest figures for the end of the March 2019 financial year, were not given to the Lok Sabha. No reasons were given for this. Mr Gangwar said that, creating job opportunities and filling up available vacancies is the government’s top priority. He also said it was the responsibility of states and UTs to fill up the vacancies.
