Mother’s love has no boundaries, this has been proven by a 61 year old woman who actually gave birth to her own grandchild. A 61-year-old woman from Nebraska, America has recently given birth to her own granddaughter. Yes you heard it right, Cecile Eledge took a decision to carry her own granddaughter so that her gay son and his husband could have a baby of their own. Eledge served as a surrogate for her son, Matthew Eledge, and his husband, Elliot Dougherty, carrying their baby for nine months. Surrogacy is a process where a male’s sperm is medically entered inside a volunteer mother in case of unavailability of the mother or due to some medical condition which restricts a woman from giving birth naturally. However, in this case, the family went through a lengthy process to determine if Eledge was a good candidate to serve as a surrogate mother as her age was a consideration, and she underwent several tests before doctors said she could carry the baby. On March 25, Eledge gave birth to a healthy baby girl who was completely normal.
"We are thankful with how the whole process worked.We are really grateful that both Uma and her grandma are here, happy and healthy. For the time being, we're just going to relax and enjoy this moment." The gay couple said. The gay couple was in the room when Eledge gave birth, and a photographer captured their emotional reactions. The new dads were brought to tears of joy as they met their daughter for the first time beside Eledge's hospital bed.
