Famous diamond & jewellery merchant Dilip Popley’s daughter Vidhi Popley married her childhood love Hridesh Sainani mid-air on a modified plane. Watch all the details.
A Dubai-based Indian couple got married in one of the most unconventional ceremonies on 24th November 2023. Vidhi Popley, the daughter of UAE-based businessman Dilip Popley married her childhood love Hridesh Sainani mid-air on a modified Jetex (brand) 747 Boeing plane. The couple was joined by 350 wedding guests including close family & friends and media personnel. The guests were dressed in vibrant lehengas and stylish kurtas. They were full of excitement & in a celebratory mood. The videos of them dancing in-flight to Bollywood songs have gone viral on social media. The parties arrived at the Jetex VIP terminal near Al Maktoum Airport in South Dubai. The celebrations began before the boarding of the flight. The guests took photos of them with their boarding passes, after which they boarded the flight & took off. The ceremony started aboard after the flight reached its cruising altitude. The aircraft was slightly modified specifically for the wedding. Each section of the plane was fixed with a small projector so that everyone could watch the ceremony from their seats. The guests were treated with a much better version of flight meals. The flight travelled from Dubai to Oman which takes three hours, giving enough time for the ceremony to take place. Interestingly, Vidhi’s parents got married in a similar manner 28 years ago by transforming an Air India flight into a marriage venue in 1994. The Popley family is famous for owning the prestigious network of Popley jewellery and diamond outlets across UAE and India. The bride’s father Dilip Popley said “Dubai is my home and this is the sequel to the wedding in the sky. I have always dreamt of doing this for my daughter and there’s no place better than Dubai as it fulfils all the dreams.” The bride & the groom too expressed their love and gratitude to both family’s parents, guests and Jetex for making their wedding one of a kind and the most memorable one.
