Aam Aadmi Party Manifesto 2019
With the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Aam Aadmi Party has presented its manifesto to the people of the country. One of the main focus of the AAP is to attain complete statehood.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released its manifesto on 25th April. The party head, and Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said that the party would do everything to stop the current Prime Minister- Modi, and BJP chief Amit Shah from coming to power again. The AAP is fighting the Lok Sabha 2019 elections in Delhi, and its main aim is to make Delhi a “full state”. By this, they mean that Delhi will get complete statehood. Delhi is currently an NCR i.e. The National Capital Region. Most of the powers are with the Central government, which is led by the BJP. Hence, the AAP state government doesn't have much power. Even the Delhi Police, comes under the central government.
For women, the AAP said that it would give at least 33% reservation for women, in all of the posts under Delhi Police. As of now, Delhi Police is under the control of the central government.
The manifesto promises to introduce the Jan Lokpal Bill, in order to help in reducing corruption in the government.
With reference to infrastructure, the AAP said that each family of Delhi will be able to get a pucca house within Delhi 10 years.
On fighting pollution, the AAP said that it will make sure that the city gets a public bus fleet of 100% electrical buses. They also said that roads will be cleaned with the help of vacuum machines, to ensure that the roads remain dust free.
The AAP has laid great importance on education. In its manifesto they said that every child in Delhi will be entitled to free, world class education from nursery to class 12 i.e. 3 to 18 years of age. This will ensure that the child will be happy, aware, and a capable citizen.
Elections in Delhi will be held on May 12th. The results of this election will be declared on May 23rd.
Arvind Kejriwal said that they would support any grand alliance government. He also said that the 2019 election was important to save the nation. He said that they were Indian first, and Hindu or Muslim later.
