Now, there is a new update on this case.
The popular actor of 'Pushpa 2', Allu Arjun, was arrested by the Hyderabad police on Friday. He was arrested for the death of 35-year-old Revathi in the stampede at the movie premiere. Her son was also hurt in the incident. But why was Allu Arjun arrested?
After the tragic incident, Allu Arjun had promised to help the family by offering ?25 lakh and covering the medical treatment of her injured son. However, Revathi's family filed a police complaint against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management. The family claimed that they were not informed in advance about Allu Arjun's visit to the theatre.
The police said that the theatre management and Allu Arjun's team did not announce the visit beforehand. They also did not make enough arrangements for the large crowd. Due to this, the police registered a case under sections 105 and 118 (1) of the Indian Penal Code.
Allu Arjun was arrested from his house in Jubilee Hills and taken to Chanchalguda Central Jail in Hyderabad. The court then sent him to 14 days of judicial custody.
Later, Allu Arjun applied for interim bail, and the court granted it after he paid ?50,000 as bond. However, the police found some small mistakes in the paperwork and asked the court to correct them. As a result, Allu Arjun had to spend a night in jail. Some reports say that he was given the prisoner number 7697 and had to sleep on the floor of the jail.
The next morning, Allu Arjun was released on bail. The case is still going on, and the actor has now asked the Telangana High Court to cancel the FIR against him.
After coming out of jail, Allu Arjun spoke to reporters. He said, "I respect the law and will cooperate. I want to again express my condolences to the family of Revathi. It was a very unfortunate incident."
Allu Arjun then went back to his home in Jubilee Hills, where he had an emotional moment with his wife, Sneha Reddy. She was in tears when she saw him after his release.
The case continues, and we will keep you updated with any further developments.
