Actor Sushant Singh Rajput Commits Suicide

34-year-old Actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his house at Bandra in Mumbai on Sunday morning (14th June). He was found hanging at his home. According to sources, Sushant Singh Rajput had hosted a close group of friends at his home on Saturday night (13th June), This, however, has not been confirmed by any of his friends. Around 10 am this morning, he went back to his room, after which, he was not seen. The house staff and his friend tried to open the door but in vain. The house staff called a local key maker. With the help of the duplicate key, they opened the door to discover him hanging. The house help also called the ambulance and the police, who reached his home.
The police have found his medical file which said he was suffering from clinical depression for the past six months. The police have confirmed that he has died by suicide and no ‘note’ was found. DCP Pranay Ashok, of Mumbai Police, said, “Sushant Singh Rajput has committed suicide, Mumbai Police is investigating.” Sushant Singh Rajput's dead body has been taken to the Cooper hospital for post mortem. He is survived by his father, one elder brother and 2 elder sisters. His death has come as a huge shock to Bollywood stars and celebrities. Social media was flooded with condolences for Sushant. PM Modi too offered condolences.
Just a week back Sushant Singh Rajput’s former manager Disha Salian had committed suicide. Sushant had posted a heartfelt note on Twitter after her death, “It’s such devastating news. My deepest condolences to Disha’s family and friends. May your soul rest in peace.” On 3rd June, in his last Instagram post he posted a picture of him and his mother. His mother passed away in 2002, when he was 16 years old. Sushant had always said that his mother’s death had affected him deeply.
Sushant was born in Patna. He secured all-India 7th rank in AIEEE. In his third year of engineering, he left college to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. Sushant became famous with the television serial Pavitra Rishta. He debuted in the movie Kai Po Che in 2014. He had no Bollywood connections and became successful all by himself. He acted in famous films such as PK, Kedarnath, etc. He was appreciated for most of his films but MS Dhoni, in which he played the former Indian cricket team captain, was among the most successful films of 2016. He played a father in his movie Chhichhore where he showed that suicide is not a solution, instead we should fight and live. Sushant’s team shared a message for his fans, “It pains us to share that Sushant Singh Rajput is no longer with us. We request his fans to keep him in their thoughts and celebrate his life, and his work like they have done so far. We request the media to help us maintain privacy at this moment of grief.”
