After IPL Title Dhoni Successfully Undergoes Knee Surgery

Just days after guiding CSK to their fifth title in the IPL, MS Dhoni reportedly underwent surgery on his knee on 1st June 2023.

Just days after guiding Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their fifth title in the Indian Premier League (IPL), legendary cricketer MS Dhoni reportedly underwent surgery on his knee on 1st June 2023. 41-year-old Dhoni had remained in speculation about finishing up his incredible IPL career after the end of the 2023 season. However, he said that he may extend his captaincy as the leader of the Chennai Super Kings for the 2024 season of IPL.  Many of us noticed that Dhoni had played the entire season of the IPL tournament with a heavily strapped left knee. While he looked absolutely fine during wicket-keeping, he came into bat as low as No. 8 at times and didn’t look in his element while running between the wickets.  After CSK's fifth IPL title triumph, Dhoni had flown to Mumbai from Ahmedabad to meet sports orthopedic surgeon Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala. As per the latest developments, Dhoni successfully underwent left knee surgery at a Mumbai-based Kokilaben Hospital on 1st June 2023. According to a source, “He is doing fine. He has already been discharged from hospital and he has gone back to Ranchi.  He will be resting for a few days before his extensive rehabilitation starts. It is now expected that he would have enough time to get fit to play in the next IPL.”
Meanwhile, global sportswear brand Adidas shared the first look of Team India's new jerseys for the Test, ODI and T20I. The BCCI, in May, confirmed a 5 year partnership with Adidas and it will be the sole supplier for all match, training & travel wear for the BCCI- including the men’s, women’s & youth teams. The India men's cricket team will be the first ones to wear the new kit when they take on Australia in the World Test Championship final from 7th June 2023 to 11th June 2023 in London.
