On 11th July 2020 Saturday, at night rumours began spreading that actor Amitabh Bachchan has tested positive for COVID-19. Bachchan later Tweeted and announced that yes he has been infected. He said that he has shifted to the Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. Family and staff have all been tested and they are waiting for results. Amitabh Bachchan has requested 'all that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days' to get themselves tested for COVID-19. Abhishek too announced his Covid-positive status via a tweet.
He said, “Both my father and I tested positive for Covid-19, we both have mild symptoms and are in hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic,” Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope said the actor is asymptomatic and stable.
Abhishek Tweeted and confirmed the news that, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya have also tested positive. He said that both mother and daughter will be self quarantining at home. The rest of the family including his mother has tested negative. Abhishek said that he and amitabh will stay in the hospital till doctors allow them to go home. Soon after this rumours began spreading that Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor have tested positive for COVID-19. According to rumours,Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda had attended Neetu Singh’s Birthday party hosted by her daughter Riddhima Kapoor. However Riddhima rubished these rumours and said they are fit and healthy. Bollywood actress Rekha’s building in Bandra has been sealed as the watchman tested positive for COVID-19.
