AP Reserves 75% Private Jobs For Locals
Jagan Mohan Reddy has fulfilled his pre-election promise of proving 75% job reservation in the private sector, to the youth in Andhra Pradesh.
Before the election, Jagan Mohan Reddy had promised to provide jobs to locals. He won the election and now is fulfilling his promise. Reddy’s government on 22nd July 2019 in AP’s State Assembly, passed the Andhra Pradesh Employment of Local Candidates in Industries/Factories Act, 2019. This will make sure that in all private companies 75% of the jobs will be reserved for the local people. Government officials say that when farmers give up their lands for Industries or factories they lose they jobs. Many of the youth are unemployed as well. This Bill will make sure Companies and factories recruit the local youth and farmer. It is now compulsory for them to provide the locals with skills by training them. Once the people are properly trained, the companies and factories must hire them.
The Bill will make sure, the locals have a regular income and they can lead a better life. Andhra Pradesh is the first state to introduce such a law in the private sector. The people of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat have demanded reservation in Jobs just like this, but the government has made no decision yet. On 9th July 2019, CM of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath said that his government would reserve up to 70 percent of jobs for the local youth. He even angered many by saying that, people from neighbouring Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are taking away the jobs of the locals. However the MP government has made no decision yet.
