Aryan Khan Won't Have to Visit NCB Office

In a major relief to Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan, the 24-year-old will no longer need to appear before the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) weekly.

Aryan Khan, son of megastar Shah Rukh Khan was arrested in the drugs-on- cruise-ship case. The case is being investigated by the Special Investigation Teams (SIT) of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). This team was created last month after various allegations were brought against Sameer Wankhede, who was in charge of the case. Now Wankhede is assisting the SIT. After spending nearly a month in custody, Aryan was granted bail in October. However his bail had mentioned certain conditions. Apart from furnishing Rs. 1L personal bond, Aryan and his co-accused were forbidden from leaving the country without permission. For travel outside Mumbai, a detailed plan had to be submitted. They were asked to visit NCB's office on Fridays to mark their presence and to assist the SIT in their investigation. Aryan had filed an application in the court, requesting the Friday meeting rule be modified. Now his request has been granted and he will not have to go to the NCB offices every friday.

Even though the weekly visits are off, Aryan will have to be present before Special Investigation Team (SIT) Delhi "as and when directed, provided a prior 72 hours notice is given," The conditions for traveling outside Mumbai haven't changed. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has exposed the smuggling of drugs from Mumbai to foreign countries for the upcoming New Year's Eve party. Over the past two days, the NCB has taken action in eight places in Mumbai and seized drugs worth around Rs 13 crore. The seized drugs were to be smuggled to Australia, New Zealand, Maldives, Dubai, USA, hidden in stethoscopes, ties, bicycle helmets, ovens, bangles, food bags. The NCB says this is a new method of drug trafficking.
