The Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) on Thursday, September 26 launched the Type ‘Plastic Beku’ campaign. This programme will have specially designed dustbins where you can throw plastic waste materials which will then be used to build roads. They have done this to raise awareness about separating plastic from our garbage so that the environment is cleaner. They will use plastic that can not be recycled or decompose to make roads upto 50km.
This programme will be started in many schools of Bangalore as well. In these schools children will be asked to bring waste plastic items that will then be used to make roads. These roads will be stronger than normal cement roads.
Ahmed Khan, the manager of the programmer said that, “The city of Bengaluru generates over 300 to 400 tonnes of plastic waste every month. This plastic can be used to make roads and other states can start doing the same.
