BJP Leader Against Shahrukh & Deepika’s Pathaan
A lot of controversy and outrage has emerged after the first song of Shahrukh Khan & Deepika Padukone’s latest film Pathaan has released recently.
Although it is not the first time when a Bollywood film has been accused of targeting the sentiments of Hindu religion. Earlier, films like PK, Oh My God & several others have seen this backlash and now it's another Bollywood film which has landed in the middle of controversies. The demand for a boycott of Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathaan is already increasing.
The first song of the film ‘Besharam Rang’ was released on 12th, which featured Deepika Padukone and several other female actors in bikinis and similar bold attire. The dance by the lead actress involves suggestive and erotic movements, while Shahrukh Khan appears shirtless in several scenes. ‘Besharam Rang’ means ‘shameless colour’. In many scenes of the song, Deepika is shown wearing a saffron bikini, which Twitter users are objecting to. People are accusing Shah Rukh and the filmmakers of defaming saffron colour by linking the lyrics of the song ‘Besharam Rang’ to Deepika’s bikini colour. People are giving sharp reactions on social media about the film’s new song ‘Besharam Rang’. Netizens have also accused Shah Rukh Khan of deliberately defaming the saffron colour. Moreover, on 14th December 2022, Madhya Pradesh’s home minister, Dr. Narottam Mishra expressed objection to actress Deepika Padukone’s outfits in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ from the film ‘Pathaan’. Mr Mishra, a senior leader of BJP in Madhya Pradesh and is currently serving as the Home Minister in the state. The minister has advised the director to correct the attire because of which the film may face troubles to get released in Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Narottam Mishra said, the costumes used in the song are very objectionable and it is clear that this song has been filmed with a corrupt mentality. Dr. Narottam Mishra added that he would request the filmmakers to fix these scenes, fix these costumes, otherwise, whether this film should be allowed in Madhya Pradesh or not will be a question to be considered.
If you don’t already know, in October, Narottam Mishra also warned the makers of the Bollywood film Adipurush, which is based on the epic Ramayana, of legal action if scenes showing Hindu religious figures in the wrong way are not removed. People are also angry with the way obscenity has been shown in the film’s song. Earlier Shah Rukh Khan, on Monday, 12th of December, paid a visit to the Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu and Kashmir. A short video clip showing the 'Pathaan' actor dressed in a black jacket with a hoodie and surrounded by his security guards and local policemen moving towards the temple is going viral on social media. SRK's pictures with some of his fans during his visit to Vaishno Devi had also gone viral on the internet.Narottam Mishra also spoke about Shah Rukh Khan's visit to Vaishno Devi temple.
