BJP Mocks Mamata Banerjee Over Injury Drama

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reportedly sustained injuries on her leg after she was allegedly pushed in Nandigram.

Yesterday on 10th March 2021, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was in Nandigram. Over there she filed her nomination for the upcoming West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections. Later in the day, while she was campaigning for the election. Banerjee said that when she was leaving a Kali temple in Nandigram, she was attacked by four or five people at a time when there was no police officer around her.   She has suffered injuries on her foot and face. Asked if it was a planned attack, she said, "Of course, it is a conspiracy...there was no security personnel around me." Later images went viral on social media where her security guards were seen carrying Banerjee and placing her in the backseat of a car. She said she will return to Kolkata to see her doctor, cutting her Nandigram trip short. 

She added she will complain about the incident to the Election Commission of India. West Bengal BJP Vice-President Arjun Singh said, “"She is doing drama only. 300 police personnel are providing security to the CM. She is doing this to get sympathy." The West Bengal elections will be held in eight phases. Votes will be counted on May 2. The All India Trinamool Congress is the ruling party in West Bengal. Their term ends on 30th May after which the party that emerges victorious in the elections will come in power.
