Body of Deaf Child Found in a Pond

Deaf child Vanshu Singh aged 5 years was missing from his home at Golmuri Nanak Nagar in Jamshedpur since Friday (17th July). On Saturday(18th July) afternoon the police found his body in a pond near Tata Wires Ltd company three Km away from his home. The police first took the body to TATA Motors hospital and then sent the body for postmortem to MGM Medical College. Vanshu stayed with his maternal grandparents and his mother Komal Kaur. His father Jasbir Singh worked in Bokaro. According to the relatives, Vanshu left the house on 17th evening at about 6.30pm without informing anyone. When he did not return till 7 pm, they started searching for him. Later in the night a missing complaint was filed in the police station. Golmuri Police too informed the CCR (Contact and Control Room) via the wireless about the missing complaint. The missing information also got viral on Facebook and WhatsApp.
On Saturday (18th July) at about 12.30 pm a passerby saw a body floating in the Tata Wires company pond. He informed the Telco Police Station. The Telco police station officer Akhileshwar Mandal with the help of the fire brigade removed the body from the pond. Akhileshwar Mandal also informed the Golmuri Police Station about finding a body. The Golmuri Police informed Vanshu’s parents. Vanshu’s family along with the maternal uncle (mama) reached the venue and identified the child. The relatives doubt that the child was forcefully pushed into the pond. Based on the statement of the mother, FIR has been filed against unknown persons for strangling and murdering the child. Some relatives mentioned that the pond is 3 KMs away from the child’s house. The family and the police are both shocked on how the child reached so far. The police are scanning CCTV footage on the route from Golmuri Nanak Nagar to the wire company pond. Vanshu has a 6 year old elder sister and a 2 year old younger sister. After the incident the family members are in bad state. The police said that the body of the missing child was found in the wire company pond. He was deaf. How he reached the pond from home is being investigated. The family has informed that they did not have animosity with anyone.
