Actor Irrfan Khan was admitted on Tuesday, 27th April 2020 to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. He passed away today 29th April 2020. He was 54. Irrfan had a cancerous tumor in his intestine since March 2018. He had gone to London for treatment and had returned to Mumbai in February 2019 to shoot for film Angrezi Medium and then had again returned to London. He then returned back to India after surgery in September 2019. The news of Irrfan’s hospitalization spread on Tuesday evening. His spokesperson informed that Irrfan was admitted to the ICU because of colon infection and they would keep everyone updated with news. He also said that Irrfan is courageous and hopes he recovers soon with prayers.

Sadly Irrfan’s mother Saeeda Begum died at the age of 95 on Saturday morning in Jaipur. Irrfan was not able to travel from Mumbai due to the lockdown. Irrfan is survived by his wife Sutapa and two sons, Babil and Ayan. Film Director Shoojit Sircar tweeted “My Dear Friend Irrfan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you. We shall meet again. Condolences to Supta. You fought too. You gave everything possible in this fight. Salute to Irrfan” Many actors have posted their condolences on Social Media about Irrfan Khan’s death. 

Irrfan was last seen in the Angrezi Medium film. This film released a few days back on Hotstar due to the

lockdown. Irrfan Khan was not able to promote the film because of his health and spoke to his fans via a video

message. Irrfan was an internationally acclaimed actor. He was extremely skilled and has acted in many films and portrayed different roles.  He had worked in films like Paan Singh Tomar, Namesake, Jurassic Park, Piku, Life of Pi, Talvar and Hindi Medium.
