Bones Found in Mehrauli Forest Matches the DNA of Shraddha
The DNA of Shraddha Walkar's father has matched with the dismembered bones, which were found from South Delhi's Mehrauli forest area.
Over the past few days, the whole country has been talking about the gruesome murder of Shradhha Walker and the development in the case. Shraddha Walkar was killed by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawala. Aftab chopped her body into 35 pieces, stored them in a fridge and dumped them across South Delhi's Mehrauli forest area for several days. In case you have missed out the news about her death, click here to watch the video. The Delhi Police arrested her live-in partner Aaftab Amin Poonawala on 12th of November. A few days back Aaftab underwent different sessions of polygraph test and a narco analysis test after a Delhi court gave permission for the same. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) officials said that Aaftab confessed to killing Shraddha Walkar during the polygraph test and said he had no guilt about the gruesome crime he committed. The report of Poonawala's polygraph test was submitted to the police on 14th of December.
After Poonawala's confession, police scanned through various forest areas in Mehrauli, and even a pond in Madangir was emptied to look for Walkar's missing body parts. Cops also searched the forest areas near Aaftab's Gurugram office located in DLF-Phase 2 and recovered some plastic bags. In those bags were some unidentified human bones which the police again sent for the forensic test. Now much recently, the DNA of Shraddha Walkar's father has matched with the dismembered bones, which were found from Delhi's Mehrauli forest area. The police had recovered 13 bone pieces from the area while searching for Walkar's body parts. Shraddha's father, Vikas Walkar said that he was sure that the body parts recovered from Mehrauli forest were that of Shraddha's.He was sad after it was confirmed that his daughter is no longer in this world. This is a major headway in the case and will help the police make their case strong and ensure that Aftab gets strict punishment.
