Congress Slams Tejasvi Surya for Enjoying Dosa During Floods
On 10th September, the Congress sent ten Dosas from popular restaurants to Tejasvi Surya alleging that he is not worried about the floods.
Heavy rains lashed Bengaluru in the past few days, causing floods in several parts of the city. Several schools in Bengaluru remained closed earlier due to heavy rainfall and water-logging. Notably, a yellow alert was also issued during the floods which happened in different parts of the city. Following this, the Karnataka Congress on 6th September lashed out at Bengaluru South Member of Parliament (MP) Tejasvi Surya for 'enjoying' masala Dosa at the time when the city is suffering from floods. Congress spokesperson Lavanya Ballal shared a video of Surya having a masala dosa at a local eatery in Padmanabhanagar. The video was taken on 5th September. Surya went to the eatery to try out 'Benna Masala Dosa’ after watching the Instagram reels. In the video he could be heard saying that he was loving the dosa and also suggested people to try Uppittu there. Ballal in her tweet raised questions asking if “Tejasvi Surya has visited any flood affected regions so far?” However, many people on social media also supported Surya. They claimed that many parts of Surya's constituency were not affected by floods. One of the Twitter users wrote, "The fact that he is eating that in a Bengaluru hotel itself shows that part of the city isn't affected. What are you expecting? Whole Bengaluru folks should go to the place where it is flooded and remove water?" Meanwhile, some of the internet users were also seen lashing out at the BJP MP.
Following this, 10th of September, the Congress workers sent ten different Dosas from popular restaurants in the city to Tejasvi Surya alleging that he is only worried about the popularity of restaurants and not about people. One of the Congress workers took to social media and wrote “Protest against @Tejasvi_Surya for his irresponsibility in delivering his duties. Sent him a parcel of 10 different Dosas from Top hotels of Bengaluru. Let him have this free Dosas & not worry about marketing of hotels & work for the people of his Parliament.
