Cricket Legend Dean Jones Passes Away
Former Australian cricket legend Dean Jones has passed away of a massive heart attack.
Former Australian cricket legend Dean Jones has died of a massive heart attack on 24th September. The 59-year-old Jones, who was part of the Star Sports commentary team in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 season and was working from a hotel in Mumbai. Jones made his ODI debut in 1984.
Jones played very well and helped Australia win their first World Cup in 1987. Also, during the tied Test against India in 1986, Jones played very well and scored 210 in humid conditions in Chennai.
Jones ended up in the hospital on a saline drip. In his life, he played 52 Test matches scoring 3,631 runs at an average of 46.55. Jones also played in 164 ODIs and scored 6,068 runs with the help of seven centuries and 46 fifties. He was an active cricket analyst and had been a part of the IPL for a while now. Jones is survived by his wife Jane and his two daughters Isabella and Phoebe.
