The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on 2nd December forecasted that the cyclonic storm Burevi is likely to cross Tamil Nadu early on 4th December. Yesterday morning, the storm lay centered about 420 kilometers east-southeast of Pamban, the IMD stated. The IMD said the cyclonic storm will cross the Tamil Nadu coast between Kanyakumari and Pamban on 4th December. They have predicted heavy rainfall over north TN, Puducherry, Mahe, and Karaikal, along with northern Kerala. Last week Cyclone Nivar destroyed northern parts of the state. At least three people each were reported to have been killed in rain-related incidents in TN and Andhra Pradesh. PM Modi spoke to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Palaniswami and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and assured all possible support.
