However, Elon Musk has dropped his plan of acquiring Twitter in a $44 billion deal. Musk announced on Friday 8th July that he was terminating his deal because the micro-blogging site Twitter had breached multiple provisions of the agreement. Twitter’s chairman, Bret Taylor, posted on Twitter saying that the micro-blogging site is planning to sue Musk for pulling out of the $44 billion deal midway.
According to various sources, Elon Musk has claimed that Twitter has failed to provide information about fake or spam accounts on its platform, despite his repeated requests. Twitter also did not provide information about its processes for identifying and suspending accounts on the site. He said that It could be more than 20 per cent or up to four times what Twitter has declared earlier. However, Twitter's CEO on the other hand ruled out his claims and provided proof of just 5 percent of bot accounts on the micro-blogging site.
