Farhan Akhtar Slams Abhay Deol Regarding Award Shows
Abhay Deol posted on Instagram and expressed his disappointment with Bollywood award shows, receiving a strong reply from Farhan Akhtar.
Recently, Abhay Deol posted on Instagram and expressed his disappointment with Bollywood award shows.
He posted a picture of the film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, it is the story of three friends (played by Abhay, Farhan and Hrithik Roshan), who decide to reunite for a road trip and end up fulfilling their long-pending dreams, fixing broken relationships, and discovering themselves along the way. The film saw Katrina Kaif playing Hrithik's love interest, while Kalki Koechlin played Abhay's possessive girlfriend. Abhay said that after the release of the film, award functions nominated him and Farhan as "Supporting Actors", while Hrithik and Katrina were nominated as "Actors in a leading role". This is why Abhay decided to boycott all Awards Shows that year but Farhan was fine with it.
Abhay said that there are many ways in which the film industry oppressed actors, but this time the film Industry shamelessly targeted me. Farhan Akhtar was speaking at the India Today e-Conclave. In connection to Abhay’s post, Farhan said that seeking external validation would eventually lead to disappointment. He added that if an actor's larger interest is to be called a "star," they are in the wrong profession.
After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, many actors have spoken out against the film industry’s nepotism and unfairness. Raveena Tandon recently said that "mean girl groups" and "camps" do exist in Bollywood, while director Abhinav Kashyap accused Salman Khan of bullying him and sabotaging his career.
