Fire Breaks Out at Slums Near Bandra Station
Fire breaks out in the slums of Shastri Nagar near bandra station.
A major fire has broken out at the slums of Shastri Nagar near Bandra railway station at 10.26am today. This fire has erupted very close to the railway bridge.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade, ambulances including the Mumbai Police are present at the location. The Fire Brigade has declared that it is a Level 2 fire.
When a fire breaks out, the Fire Brigade has 5 levels which decides how severe the heat and damage. Level 2 means residents should be alert and keep a watch. If the situation worsens they should be ready to leave.
Nobody has been injured except for two men who are stable. The fire has not spread and is only near slums. Furniture, household items electric wiring have been destroyed in the fire.
The area outside bandra station has many hutments which are not allowed. On 30 October, last month, a fire broke out the same location. Even though the BMC has taken action against them, they continue to stay there.
