Dhruvi Gohil was a 16-year-old student from Borivali, Mumbai. She was extremely smart and was a very good student. However in a very strange incident she died in her bathroom while having a bath in the morning.
This young girl died on the day of her 16th Birthday. Let me tell you about it.Dhruvi was preparing for her ongoing exams till late night. The next day she went to have a bath around 6.45 am. Her parents said that she wanted to wash her hair, which takes a long time. She was in the bathroom for a long time but her parents thought since she was washing her there was no problem as it takes a long time. However by 8am they became very worried and started knocking on the door.
When her parents broke open the door, Dhruvi was found unconscious, with the right side of her body burnt due to hot water.According to Dr Vivek Chaurasia, Dhruvi was then taken to the hospital and she was unconscious. The doctors immediately put her on a ventilator because she couldn’t breathe on her own. However the next day her brain started swelling, she got convulsions and then she died. The Doctors who were treating her were neurologists. According to the doctors, Dhruvi died because of the heaters. Let me explain.Gas geysers consume oxygen to generate heat for warming water. Since it has become cold in Mumbai, the family had completely closed the windows in the bathroom.
Since there was no ventilation, the geyser consumed all the oxygen in the bathroom. Since it absorbed all the oxygen in the room the room started filling up with Carbon Dioxide. This is a very dangerous gas. There was no oxygen in the bathroom and she suffocated.Breathing too much CO can lead to brain damage and seizures. From 6:45 am to 8:00am the girl was inside the bathroom and breathing this poisonous gas. Which is why she fainted and eventually died.Doctors say this was because there was no ventilation in the bathroom. Senior citizens and people with respiratory illness are more prone to suffer.
