Gmail & Google Drive Stop Working Worldwide
20th August 2020, Gmail users across the world were stuck because of an outage on their email service.
From 11am yesterday 20th August 2020, Gmail users across the world have been unable to work properly because of an outage on the email service. Due to the problem, it did not allow users to send attachments via mail. Gmail users complained on social media about not being able to send emails or upload attachments.
Some said uploading attachments was taking too long and was also failing in most cases. Some users also complained about log-in and receiving messages. Apart from Gmail, Google Drive was also affected. Some users said that Drive failed to upload files, download files and share them with others.
In the current scenario almost everyone is working from home, Gmail going down is a very
troublesome issue. Google also confirmed the issue with Gmail and said “Our team is continuing to investigate this issue. We will provide an update by 20/8/20 1:51 pm with more information about this problem. Thank you for your patience.” There is a website called Down Detector - whenever any website/App crashes or stops working, this website checks the status and tells what the problem is. The tracking website said that users from the US, India, Australia, Philippines, New Zealand and 42 more countries reported facing issues with Gmail. Google then said that Gmail had started working for some users. For others Gmail will start working soon but did not mention a specific time.
