Government Bans E-Cigarettes

In order to curb the rising use of E-Cigarettes among the youth, the government has imposed a blanket ban on E-Cigarettes.

 E-Cigarettes liquid nicotine to turn into steam. It was earlier thought that E-cigarettes help quit smoking. However that is not true. New research has shown that,  smoking E-cigarettes leads to shortness of breath, fever, fatigue, and lung irritation. In the US, six people died due to E-Cigarettes. Now The Finance Minister Nirmala Sithararam on 18th September announced that, the government has decided to completely ban E-Cigarettes in India. The ban means that the production, manufacturing, import/export, transport, sale, distribution, storage and advertising related to e-cigarettes are completely banned. 

In India, people used to think that smoking E-cigarettes is cool. This why the government felt it was very important to ban it. This ban has been approved by the Cabinet Ministers. It will be put in front of the Parliament soon. The government wants to impose a fine of Rs. 50,000, a jail term of up to six months or both for storing E-cigarettes.
