Governor Asks Sena if They can Form Government
CM Devendra Fadnavis has resigned as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and said that the Shiv Sena are welcome to form the new government with the Congress and the NCP.
The last date for the formation of a new government in Maharashtra was 9th November and till now no political party has formed a government. The BJP and Sena fought the elections together and won. However Shiva said that they will form a government with BJP only if they are given 50-50 sharing government a Sena CM for 2.5 years. But BJP did not accept this. BJP met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to discuss this problem but no solution was found. Since BJP and Shiv Sena could not agree Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis resigned.
The BJP Maharashtra President Chandrakanth Patil said that, BJP and Shiva fought the elections together and won. The people of Maharashtra wanted a BJP-Sena government but now Shiv Sena does not want to form a government with the BJP. This is why BJP has decided not to form the new government. If Shiv Sena wants to form the government with NCP and Congress, then the BJP has no problem. In the Maharashtra State Assembly you need more than 145 seats to form a government. Shiv Sena has only 56.
Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has asked Sena if they can manage to get more than 145 seats to form the government. Shiv Sena has to inform the Governor about this by 7:30 pm today. Otherwise there will be President's Rule in Maharashtra. The next 24hours are very important for Shiv Sena they will have to quickly discuss with Congress and NCP and come to an agreement.
