Gujarati Folk Singers Meets Modi
Geeta Rabri a famous Gujarati folk singer who has popularised folk music among the youth, met PM Modi and was praised for her dedication.
Geeta Rabari is Gujarati Folk singer. Her song "Rona Sherma" dedicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become a big hit. Geeta said that she had met PM Modi when she was a child. He gave her Rs. 250 as a prize and told her that her voice is very good. He told her to practice and keep singing. Now that her song has become a big hit she went to meet him on Monday and seek his blessings.
Geeta said that PM Modi was "like her father". She belonged to the Maldhari community and lived in the jungles. One day her father got a postcard with the PM’s Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme message on it. Because of this scheme, her father encouraged me to study. After meeting her PM Modi Tweeted, "People like Geeta Rabari inspire our society. Belonging to a humble background, she dedicatedly pursued her passion of singing and became successful. I am very impressed by her efforts to popularise Gujarati folk music among youngsters," He wished her all the best for her future endeavours.
