Head of Ram Mandir Trust Tests Positive for COVID
Nritya Gopal Das the head of Ram Temple Trust in Ayodhya has tested positive for coronavirus.
On Thursday 13th August reports said that Nritya Gopal Das the head of Ram Temple Trust in Ayodhya has tested positive for coronavirus. Last week when Prime Minister Modi was at the ground breaking ceremony of the Ram Temple, he shared the stage with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, and Nritya Das who is now infected. Sarvagya Ram Mishra, District Magistrate of Mathura said that Nritya Das had a fever and doctors were sent. He added, “The fever is normal. He has mild breathlessness and we checked his oxygen level. There is nothing serious. We checked for coronavirus and it is positive. The Chief Minister has ordered that Maharaj ji be shifted to the Medanta Hospital and we will soon do it.”
Since the Babri Masjid was demolished in 1992, Das has been an important figure leading the fight for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Nritya Das has also constructed many temples in Ayodhya. He has been guarded by two policemen since 2001 after country-made bombs were hurled at him and his disciples when they were returning from Sarayu River after morning bath. He had suffered minor injuries. Before the Ram Temple ceremony another priest had tested positive for coronavirus.
