High Number of Children Hospitalised with COVID in USA
Children are being admitted to hospitals in huge numbers due to the significant increase in COVID-19 cases in the US.
Since the pandemic began, the Coronavirus infection has affected over 5,52,26,252 people in the US, and more than 8,45,712 people have died. However, now the new infections in the US have reached an all-time high. The US has set a new record on Thursday 30th December 2021, by reporting a total of 5,80,000 new COVID-19 cases in a single day. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said Omicron was responsible for 59% of new infections that are being reported. There is also a spike in Covid-19 cases among children and teenagers. Many children are also getting hospitalised. Doctors in the US are very worried because many of the children getting hospitalised are children who are not vaccinated and with various health problems. Such children are displaying more severe COVID-19 symptoms such as high fever, trouble breathing, and dehydration.
