Hizbul Mujahideen Chief Shot Dead In J&K
The chief commander of the terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen, Saifullah, was killed in an encounter in Srinagar.
Hizb-ul-Mujahideen is a militant group in the region of Jammu and Kashmir. The group wants to separate J&K from India wants its integration with Pakistan. Riyaz Naikoo was the Chief of the terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen. Naikoo was killed by the Indian Army and the Kashmir police in May this year. After his death, Dr. Saifullah took charge of the group. Inspector-General of Police, Kashmir Range, Vijay Kumar, told reporters that they received information that some terrorists from South Kashmir were hiding in Rangreth in the outskirts of Srinagar. The police launched a joint operation with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Indian Army.
As the team approached the hiding spot, the terrorists fired on them which led to a gunfight. Kumar said, “In the firing, one terrorist was killed. We are 95% sure it is Dr. Saifullah. We are now waiting for Saifullah's family to identify the body. This is a huge success for the police and Army. Dr. Saifullah is the second HM chief to be killed this year. Also, another terrorist has been caught alive.”
