IAF Selects 25 IAF Pilots For Gaganyaan

For ISRO’s ambitious Gaganyaan Project 25 Indian astronauts were selected from the Indian Air Force in Bengaluru. The astronauts will undergo strenuous training in India as well as Russia.

ISRO’s Gaganyaan project aims to put humans in space by 2022. This project will cost Rs 10,000 crore. 

The project was announced by Prime Minister [Box 02 Narendra Modi during his Independence Day speech last year. In this project three Indians will be sent to space for a period of seven days.ISRO Chairman K. Sivan, has said that ISRO is capable of accomplishing this mission by 2022. 

25 Indian astronauts for Mission Gaganyaan have been selected at the [Box 04 Indian Air Force (IAF) in Bengaluru on 6th September friday. The selected pilots had to pass through very difficult physical and mental tests. Four Indian astronauts will go to Russia by November this year for 15 months of training for this purpose, at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre.The rigorous training in Russia will be followed by further training back in India for six to eight months. This shows that no matter how many failures, India will never give up. All the best ISRO!
