In the latest incident, a video of vanilla ice cream that didn't melt even after being left outside the refrigerator overnight has gone viral on social media.
What Happened?
The video was posted by Shreyaan Daga, an Indian entrepreneur who runs an online education and skills development portal named “OLL.” He was also a participant on the popular business show Shark Tank India. Although Shreyaan is not a social media influencer and has only around 5,700 followers, his video has caught a lot of attention.
On 17th August 2024, Shreyaan shared a reel showing a cup of Kwality Walls vanilla ice cream. He claimed that the ice cream had been left out of the refrigerator unopened for the entire night. When he opened the lid in the video, the ice cream was still frozen.
To show his concern, Shreyaan turned the cup over a piece of tissue paper, and a large amount of palm oil started pouring out of it. He tagged Kwality Walls (@kwalitywalls) and healthy food & lifestyle influencer @foodpharmer in the caption, requesting them to address the issue immediately.
Social Media Reaction
The reel quickly went viral, receiving over 1 crore 15 lakh views, 1 lakh 55 thousand likes, around 6,000 comments, and 4 lakh 30 thousand shares as of 20th August 2024.
While some viewers were shocked by the video, others corrected Shreyaan, pointing out that Kwality Walls Vanilla Ice Cream is actually a frozen dessert, not real ice cream. They explained that there is a significant difference between ice creams and frozen desserts.
